  Summary

In the months since November 2023, when Shane Hollander walked out on Ilya Rozanov after having a tuna melt–induced panic attack, the two hadn’t spoken a word. Shane got a famous girlfriend. Ilya tried to forget the heartbreak of rejection after putting himself out there to see if the eight-year situationship could be more. When Shane tries to reconnect with Ilya at the February 2024 All-Star Game in Tampa, Ilya attempts to cut the invisible string tying them together once and for all. That is, until April 2024 when Taylor Swift releases a double album all about a ten-year situationship, which makes the boys reflect on all the bad decisions that got them here. Did they make a mistake letting each other go?

OR: An AU where the timeline of tuna meltdown through the cottage is moved up to 2023–2024, and The Tortured Poets Department plays an instrumental role in the boys coming to understand their feelings for each other.
