Victoria’s hand twitched against her thigh. She released the straw trapped between her teeth, then silently opened and closed her mouth, at a loss for words other than: just a regularly scheduled Dr. Shen-study session! Not in a weird way, though. I just wanted to pin his limbs down on my favorite examination table—number three—take a bone saw to his skull, and record his brain’s chemical balance to replicate it for myself, but I’m doing it in an observational manner instead.
