Had his best friend really hated him that much? Had he really been pining over a boy that hated him so deeply he couldn't even say it to his face?
OR
Megumi tries to write a stupid note for Opposite Day to tell Itadori how he actually feels, but it all backfires when Itadori is given the note on the wrong day by people that were only trying to help.

“You know-” Megumi started. Fuck. What was he doing? “I, uh- I have a sister”.
“Oh yeah?” Itadori said, not quite sure where this was going.
“Yeah. She was cursed. Fell into a coma about a year ago.” He continued a bit awkwardly, still looking down at his hands. “I miss her a lot. Everyone keeps telling me it’ll be okay. That she’s still alive, but um, I just- I know what you’re going through. So, yeah” he finished lamely, glancing up at Itadori’s face.
“Oh, I’m sorry”
“Don’t be”
Megumi looked down at his hands again.
Why would he tell Itadori that?

Summary
Megumi hates parties. That is no surprise, he was only friends with Nobara because they worked at the same place and if she had never forced him to attend that frat party, then he would have never met Yuji Itadori.
But maybe that possibility was a lot worse than he thought?
Maybe Yuji wasn't as annoying as he first thought.
PS: title used to be polar opposites for anyone confused :)

Summary
Megumi Fushiguro and Yuji Itadori have been friends since their first year of college. They did start up a friends with benefits thing, Yuji developed feelings but Megumi was closed off. Yuji asked Megumi to choose, but Megumi chose to leave and go study abroad in London instead. He left without telling Yuji anything and the two of them did not speak. Megumi was gone all of their second year of college, but has now come back to find that the person he left is no longer there anymore.

Summary
