With a heavy breath, Frank puts down the tool. The tool. Frank thinks he's done for the night, but something in his strange mind is still searching for some sort of punishment. Something to make it okay, to make him feel... worse? Better? Neither? Both? He doesn't even know, doesn't even know what his brain wants for him. He'd been doing so well, had made a few weeks without carving into himself using something that shouldn't be used against skin. Frank breathes out another lungful of air, almost something akin to a laugh.
Was that it? His first relapse?
Or: A combination of a self-harm relapse and an eating disorder leave Frank lost in his mind a little too much.

Summary
But isn't it too unfair to still be alive when he feels so definitely manufactured and non-existent? How is the breath he inhales actually there if he can't feel it? If there is no proof that something is definitely there, then what's to say it ever was? If Frank can't come up with a point to prove that he is real, how is he supposed to know that his existence is solid and provable at all? If Frank doesn't feel real, then it only makes sense to say he never was.
Or: Frank dissociates and has to deal with the accompanying issues by himself.
