Only, she definitely didn't expect to come across a child trapped on a frozen lake during one of her walks, just a few days after her arrival. The Queen simply can't let a child die in front of her eyes. Even if it means putting her own life at stake.However, the ice isn't as solid as it appears to be, and the Queen’s heroic act seems to be her last. But while she herself has accepted her fate, another certainly refuses to let her die. And this other is not just anyone : the Lord commander and brother of Robb, Jon Snow.

Summary
Ser Jorah brings Daenerys to the North before her brother has a chance to marry her off to the Dothraki. The situation forces Ned Stark to reveal the truth of Jon’s parentage early on, and the Starks take on Daenerys as a ward.
She dyes her hair, uses a fake name, and tries to find a life for herself in Winterfell, but one Stark remains frigid to her. But after a late night of drinking and talking, secrets are revealed that make Daenerys question her options.
She can’t marry or have children—not without the risk of someone possibly uncovering her true identity, but perhaps she can take a lover…
So long as that lover agrees to her terms.
And so long as she can keep to the agreement as well.
