Maomao’s pillow was harder than usual. And warmer.
She rubbed her face into the soft fabric, which moved right back. She froze, forgetting for a moment where she was and who she was with. Warm hands stroked her back and patted at her hair.
“Good morning again,” a voice rumbled from the chest she’d fallen asleep on. “Did you have a nice nap?”
Maomao recognized Jinshi’s voice, his hands on her back. The weight of his ring on his finger, where it rested against her skin. That’s right, she remembered. I’m married. Maomao tried to sit up and roll off him, but his strong arms pinned her down before she could go. Maomao tried to wriggle away, but quickly realized two things:
1. Jinshi was much stronger than he looked, and
