Summary
No one ever said it was going to be easy being a hero, but ever since she's landed the gig, Maxine's always felt she's had some pretty big shoes to fill in her attempts to live up to such a moniker. Time and time again, it seems like all she can think about is impressing her mentor in Surge, and now that her birthday's on the horizon, what better of a b-day gift could she receive than the approval of her idol? This endless pursuit is all she could ever think, all she could strive toward now and such aspirations land her right in the middle of a conflict between the robots and humans that populate the city she protects.
But unbeknownst to the speedster, or very much anyone else in the city, a familiar, sinister force has been plotting in the background, waiting to enact it's twisted sense of justice and plunge humanity into it's "rightful" extinction...
