Jake spotted his target as soon as he walked into the bar.
Natasha’s description had been brief—mustache, loud shirt—but it was enough for Jake to zero in on the man in question. He was holding court in the corner, talking to a pair of guys and gesturing expansively with the hand that wasn’t curled around his beer.
Jake smoothed a hand over his hair, straightened his shoulders, and after a brief moment of consideration, undid one more button on his shirt. He could not wait to teach this motherfucker a lesson.

“In case you decide to be an asshole about this whole thing,” the guy says. His sprawl is casual, but his eyes are sharp as they rove over Bradley. His hackles are up for sure—one wrong move, and Bradley’s probably getting frog-marched out of here.
“It’s fine, Jake,” Haley says. “I told you, Bradley’s a nice guy.”
The guy—Jake—rolls his eyes. “Well, excuse me if I don’t have a lot of faith in some asshole who fucked you and then didn’t call.”
Bradley leans forward, his eyes narrowing. What the hell, where does this guy get off pretending like he knows anything about this situation?
