And one woman will say, “What’s a quirk marriage?” And a couple other women will nod in confusion along with her.
And one woman will say, “I didn’t know people still did that.” And a couple other women will nod in agreement along with her, looking disturbed.
And she will grow quiet and muted and won’t talk for the rest of the day, even after the therapist’s explained what a quirk marriage is to their incredulity and disgust.
She forgets that it isn’t normal. She has to make herself remember.
