“Why are we doing this outside again?”
They’re on the rooftop of Donghyuck’s apartment, Jaemin sitting cross-legged on the pyeongsang. Donghyuck is behind him, slathering hair bleach on Jaemin’s hair.
“It’s romantic,” Donghyuck says. Jaemin looks around. Donghyuck’s ugly red crocs clashing against the green painted floor, the plate of apple slices cut into lopsided bunnies, the YouTube video playing on Donghyuck’s phone on how to bleach hair for beginners. Steady fingers running through his hair, the quiet neighborhood lull of an early Sunday morning, Donghyuck humming off-key to a familiar melody.
Jaemin’s heart itches.

“She’s mine, Jaem,” Donghyuck sighs. It’s the first time he’s laid claim to Minji himself and while weight slides off his shoulders, an entirely new burden settles into his chest. “I just found out.”
