A mission gone wrong, a death in the family, and suddenly priorities shift. Times are changing, it seems the village must change with them.

Summary
Crosshair knows the facts. When he walks onto the battlefield, he does not go prepared to face death, but rather expecting to face it. Clone Force 99 has a 100% success rate, and 0% mortality rate, but they have seen their genetic brothers come home in bodybags, they have watched the light flutter out in their enemy’s eyes, they have taken the killing shot and realised that taking a life does in fact get easier, but the stain upon one’s soul never stops spreading. With every approaching day to the standard year mark they both hope and prepare: Hope that they do not become just another statistic, prepare for the likelihood that one of them does.
It is easy to tell oneself that they are ready for what comes next. It is much harder to face the reality.
