A What If story for MK1 (2023). The "What-If" of Johnny being a single dad to Cassie during the events of MK1 (You're never going to guess who her other parent is.)
Johnny Cage has made a few mistakes in his time: getting drunk and having a one-night stand while on the outs with Cris (the first time), getting back together with Cris, and Ninja Mime 4. Really, only two of those are real mistakes and one is just a happy accident. The happy accident, the happiest bit of his first mistake, is that the one-night stand turned into his daughter, Cassie. If nothing else, she's a point of pride for Johnny because she's such an awesome kid. Even if he's screwed up everything else in his life, he still has her. He would do anything for her, even give up his prized possession, Sento; he just never expected that he'd have to have that fight. Let alone have it with the only other person who could call Cassie his.

She can feel her eyes watering up in relief. Thank you, God, she sends heavenward, into the clouds even higher than their cruising altitude.
“Can you fly an A320?”
Captain Mitchell smiles at her and, good lord, he really is a miracle.
“Ma’am, if it has wings, I can fly it,” he winks and adds, “Hell, I can probably manage even if it doesn’t.”

Jake groaned into the kiss, gripping at Rooster’s shoulders. Rooster pushed him against the door, hand roaming up and down his sides. He reached under Rooster’s shirt, running his fingers over the muscles that flexed under his touch.
Rooster groaned and moved his lips down to Jake’s neck, making Jake moan under his breath. “Um- I should probably-” Jake fell off into a moan as Rooster sucked a spot into his pulse point.
“Hang on I-” Jake tried again, “Rooster, I need-”
Rooster just hummed, running his tongue over the mark. “Bradley, I need to tell you something.”
