    Dum-Dum said it’s a shame I’m spending the rest of my childhood fighting a man's war- but that’s the thing- this ain’t childhood. That’s gone. I’ll never be able to go back. Even before…Steve always worried that I didn’t have enough time to be a kid, (like he’s one to talk). Why, with dropping out of school after Ma died and working; taking care of the kids. I’m just glad that between Hannah and I it was enough to keep us fed and in the apartment. Whenever Steve brought it up I told him I had enough of a childhood chasing him ‘round the streets.
    It was good. Life was good, before. Now…
    Now I’ll never get to grow up. I went to war instead.
