The Kingsguard at the Tower of Joy escape to Essos with Jon and a living Lyanna. Robert sends Ned to search for them, and Ned secures Howland Reed's assistance. It's a far-fetched plan to begin with, but matters don't improve when Robert decides Jaime Lannister should accompany them.
Or, Ned and Jaime learn to see each other as people. Howland Reed mediates. And all three learn to play cyvasse.
