Summary
Alex had never thought she would have a family again, she never thought she would have friends, best friends, and she never once dreamed she’d ever have someone like Michael. She was stupid, everything was going to be blown apart by her revelation, she just knew it.

Summary
The thing was, Ryan never wanted the job, didn’t even ask for it, but he took it, he had to, for her. In the past two years he had known her, just about everything he had done had been for her. She changed his entire life, his world, flipped it off its axis, and he still didn’t think she truly understood.

Summary
Rebekah still didn’t know how her brother had managed to convince her to go to Mystic Falls with him, who cared if Katherine was dying, Rebekah sure as hell wouldn’t miss her, and they had more important things to deal with back in New Orleans. But no, wherever Nik went, she somehow ended up following, whether she wanted to or not. They hadn’t even went to torment the bitch in her final moments, all she had done was save Matt (and oh how that boy managed to find himself in trouble), and give back Tyler. It had been nice seeing the boy she had loved, but it had been far down on her list of things to do.

Summary
When winter vacation rolls around, an idea strikes him, and he goes into Brenda’s room and proposes they go to Minnesota instead of sticking around in Beverly Hills. She raises an eyebrow, asks why they should trade bright sunshine and warm beaches for cloudy skies and snow. Because they need a break, that’s why, because they’ll be going to college soon and it’s been too long. She shakes her head, calls him weird, but a smile slowly unfurls and she agrees.

Summary
They ended up on the floor in front of the fireplace, flames dancing across their faces, as they traded the bottle back and forth. She would never get used to how everything had changed over the centuries, unlike her, he went with the flow, but why wouldn’t he? He was hailed as a champion for family time, holiday cheer, fun, he was worshiped. She had been too, once upon a long time, she remembered bonfires and masks and prayers, now all she got was slutty costumes, the media denouncing her and snot-nosed children begging at strangers’ doors. It was why she never came to his parties, because part of her was just too bitter, but her heart at screamed at her to see him, to be with him, like ages ago, and she had finally listened.
