It started with a data-point that Aloy should absolutely never have shown to Morlund.
It escalated with Erend and his mild-to-moderate new obsession with parties.
The middle of this ordeal is a bit of a blur to Aloy.
She's sure that she missed a couple of steps- between a light-hearted conversation about Stanley Chen's audio logs and this moment: standing in a decommissioned fountain inside the buried city of Hidden Ember, soaked to the bone and wondering where it all went wrong.
Stemmur cheerfully arranges a hat made of soapy foam atop her head, waxing lyrical about 'intrepid adventurers' and 'astonishing chemical reactions'.

Nemesis has been defeated and biosphere stabilization is well on its way. The GAIA gang is on a mission to get RCCs up and running, but locating operational facilities has proven difficult. Erend and Aloy discover a promising one in the Claim, but arrive to find the land it's on is being offered as a prize - to a lucky pair of newlyweds! They’ll face three trials before a winner is declared, and while faking a marriage sounds much easier than starting a conflict with the Oseram, pretending to be married while also pretending they're not in love with each other might pose a challenge that neither of them are prepared for.

There’s a small wooden stall set up by Hakund’s hunting goods, housing a variety of Oseram trinkets. Erend sees a lot of well polished steel on display, but that’s not what captures his attention. There’s a bracelet made of the thinnest blue machine cabling he’s ever seen, all woven together into an intricate braid. It appears both delicate and robust at the same time, and it immediately makes him think of Aloy.

Summary
Aloy, Countess of Sobeckshire, has little time for society or their rules. She is a woman bereft of attachments, blessed with enough money and status to make the world her playground.
