Dave was sent through the monolith to go somewhere. Where exactly, he couldn't know. But he was almost certain the destination was not supposed to be the Federation Starship Enterprise.
And yet, here he was. But something-- or someone-- was missing.

Summary
“So what I’m getting at, Dave, is that I think I would benefit from a nap.” Frank thinks really, really hard about just how intelligent he knows Dave to be.
“Would you like permission or something?” Dave asks, looking the slightest bit incredulous.
Frank remembers, with a deep sigh, that Dave can be really, really dense.
“No,” says Frank, and stands up so he can press the button to open the glass, and stare extra pointedly at Dave’s face, which still looks indescribably soft with the condition of sleep. He sees no recognition at all, and huffs. “What I’d like,” he says, “is to sleep with you.”
Dave’s eyebrows go up. “Or, fuck. Not what I fucking meant, don’t- hey, quit looking at me like that.”

Frank wants to take a nap using Dave as a weighted blanket. Sue him.

“Is this me?” Dave kind of tittered, and looked away awkwardly into the dim carousel of the ship, tuning into its low humming.
“Well, it’s supposed to be,” he said, pulling the sketchpad back so he could see it too, look over it for some offensive piece of it that would make HAL ask such a question.
“That’s really quite interesting, Dave,” HAL said.

Summary
“Play chess with me.” Frank stared imploringly at his crewmate. Dave’s hazy, sleepy-dusted eyes blinked without an ounce of recognition.
“Frank?” His voice scratched with the disuse of sleep.
“I mean,” Frank corrected, inhaling sharply. “Would you like to play chess with me.” It still wasn’t a question. “You should. Play chess with me, that is. Or want to, anyway.”

There's not a whole lot to do onboard Discovery One. Dave's got some hobbies, there's no shortage of reading, but Frank has tunneled on, of all things, chess. Someone please entertain him. Please.

Summary
Blue is Kanto Champion for thirty-nine minutes.
That’s it. Technically, he’s part of the Hall of Fame, technically he’s an accepted Champion. Technically, the title was his once, so it will always be his. Technically, he can’t lose it. He just loses being the present Champion.
He also, briefly, held the Kanto record for youngest ever Pokemon League champion. That was until Red, three months younger, caught up to him.
Really, Blue hadn’t even been surprised.
