Summary
Lan Wangji is a grieving man. He moves through each day with quiet dignity, carrying the weight of loss that never truly leaves him. In the silence of his home, in the soft rustle of robes and the echo of guqin strings, grief lingers like a shadow, familiar, constant, and gentle when time helps him out. Yet even in that grief, he is not empty. For his is to protect a child who carries echoes of the man Lan Wangji once loved and all the warmth he lost with him. To Lan Wangji, Lan Yuan is not just his son; he is a piece of the world that still shines, the embodiment of a promise he once made, and all that remains of both his heart and the person who once held it.
Raising a child, however, is no small task. It is not silent, nor orderly, nor still. It requires patience, wisdom, and more often than not, a lot of help. And though the years have taken much from him, he is not truly alone.
TLDR; Dadji fic or Lan Wangji raising Lan Sizhui during the 13 years Wei Wuxian was dead with the help of family as Sizhui grows up and makes friends.

But Sizhui shook his head again. “A world built from their desires. A world where even if they do notice flaws… they refuse to see them.”
“You mean…?” Sizhui nodded. A world where, using the victim’s own memories and consciousness, the yao made them not want to leave—slowly draining their energy until there was nothing left.

“Sensei isn’t answering my question!” The kid protested, a little pout forming in his mouth as Chuuya let go of his hand for a second so he could open the library that they had finally reached. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Ranpo sighed, as if he was the one dealing with a very annoying child and not the other way around. “Chuuya-sensei is in love with Dazai-sensei, isn’t he?”
