“Pew pew,” Shu teasingly eggs Luca on, knowing that it will get a reaction out of him and welcoming whatever he retaliates back with open arms.
“I shot you.” Luca looked directly into him with a proud grin covering half of his face, never looking away from Shu’s violet eyes. In those few seconds of clarity Shu thought Luca was brilliant, shining, and breathtakingly handsome. He knew there was no one in the world more beautiful than Luca.
(The sorcerer had a soft spot for Luca and would do anything for him, and the mafia boss in turn would save Shu from danger no matter what. They were comrades in arms, trusted lifelong partners, and would follow each other to the ends of the earth.)
Or: the fives times Shu was a constant in Luca’s life and the one time they know they are meant to be.

The problem: Luca has not, in fact, been dating Shu for seven years. They are simply good friends and roommates who sometimes sit in each other's laps and eat off each other's forks.
The (bigger) problem: Luca accidentally agreed to bring Shu home to meet his parents.
