It was, by all means, a beautiful day. But Ardyn was, by all means, a rather terrible person.

Some side stuff that doesn't quite fit in with the rest of Miko's adventure. Should read From Sky to Ground before this. Not all of these will actually be important.

    Summary

“These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triump die, like fire and powder
    Which, as they kiss, consume”
Friar Laurence, Romeo and Juliet By William Shakespeare
With another slash, then a thrust, and now the demon was dead. He turned his attention to another, which had lunged at him. He swung his sword up, stopping the scissors just before they could hit him. With a cocky smirk on his face, he summoned a few magic swords to skewer through the demon while it was occupied with his actual sword.
Sparda continued in this manner for a while, eventually tuning out the rest of the fighting. Lady Eva and Michel were doing just fine, besides, if he kept at this rate, they’d be done here soon enough. It was being so enamored in the fight, though, that he’d soon regret. A cry breaks him out of his trance, a cry from a voice he recognized.
Quickly, he spins around to face the source of the yelp. He freezes for a moment when he sees Lady Eva slumped against one of the rooms walls, clutching her side. She was bleeding, he could see it. The Death Scissor that did it – it had to be the one who did it, there was blood on its scissors – looming over her, ready to finish the job.

    “Go wisely and slowly.
Those who rush stumble and fall.”
Friar Laurence, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

Sparda clearly didn’t understand that he was being flirted with, which didn’t surprise Eva- she had long since given up trying to make him understand flirting, instead just bearing with his unintentional flirting. He took Michel’s compliments in stride, but whenever Michel used a less obvious form of flirting- like pick-up lines- she noticed Sparda would send a quizzical glance in her direction. She’d give him a small shrug and continue watching idly.

    Summary

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
    ― Lao Tzu

Her eyes drifted to the sword that still lay still on the ground. After having thought about it a bit, she had a pretty good idea as to where it came from. Or more accurately, who it belonged to. In a moment, an idea formed. There was a perfectly good sword laying on the ground, and while she wasn’t entirely sure how to use one- though she had taken fencing lessons when she was in high school back in Fortuna- she understood well enough to use one. It was big- bigger than her, technically- so it would take care of Empusa faster. Not to mention ever since Michel introduced her to anime, she’s always wanted to wield a big-ass sword.

Where Eva take's out a pile of Empusa with a big demon sword.

    Summary

    “True, I talk of dreams;
Which are children of the idle brain,
    Begot of nothing but vain fantasy;
Which is as thin of substance as air
And more inconstant than the wind.”
Mercutio, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

“Anyway, it’s not like he’ll know where I live soon enough,” Eva sighed. She had to admit, she might actually be kind of sad not to get another visit from Sparda. Than again, who’s to say he ever would visit again?
“Oh yeah, moving and all.” Michel agreed, “But hopefully we’ll find some more jobs in the other city.”
“Hopefully,” Eva agreed, ignoring the look Michel was giving her. He had a knowing look on his face, though she’d greatly appreciate if he’d stop. “What is that look for?”
    “Hmm? Nothing…”
“Nothing, as if!” Michel laughed, “Tell me right now Michel! Else I might need to find a new hunting partner and you’ll find a bullet from Chia and Scuro each in your skull!” she pulled her pistols- the aforementioned Chia and Scuro- out, aiming them at him.

    Summary

“No!” Despite her best efforts to protest otherwise- and they were rather good efforts, really- he just continued to laugh, finding some hilarity in her fluster. “At least it’s better than your pathetic pick up line last night!”

                    “Pick up line?”

Eva stared at him in shock, “Yeah, you know, that thing you said to me when you caught me?” Not a spark of recognition showed in Sparda’s face. While there was a chance he was good at hiding emotions like shock, given what she knew of him- which was admittedly very little- that wouldn’t seem to be the case.

“You do know what flirting is, don’t you?”

                    “Flirting? What’s that?”

“Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight!
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.”
Romeo, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
With a curse Lady Eva attempted to move out of the way, only to be knocked down when the demon swung his hand at her. Sparda, seeing what had happened, knocked the demon away from Lady Eva, reaching an arm out to catch her.

“Are you falling for me yet, Milady?" He chuckled, though Lady Eva seemed to think that this was hardly the time for jokes, as she swatted his arm as hard as she could. Afterward she shook her hand, her attempt at inflicting pain on him backfiring.

    Summary

“What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”
Juliet, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

Had this demon been normal, that should have killed him, she knew that. So why the hell was it still standing, looking shocked as it raised a hand to it head, feeling where her bullet went through. It peered at her curiously, taking in the shotgun in her hands, her blonde hair- held back in a ponytail, but still very noticeable- her coat and her shirt and jeans. She glared back, feeling a defiance. This demon could try to tear her to shreds, it wouldn’t matter, she’d show it who was boss.

“Why did you shoot me?” It asked, the first time she had ever really heard a demon speak. Sure, she’d heard grunts and cries and whatever other sounds a demon might make when fighting, but never had she really heard one speak. Yet, it was curious why she shot it? Was it unaware of what it was? Unlikely, it was probably just acting.

“You’re a demon,” She growled, “My job is to kill the likes of you.” The response was more than such a creature deserved, but there was something curious about it. It was unlike any demon she had met before.

    Summary

Leeana Namakaze was not from a normal family. She was not from a normal town. Hell she wasn't from a normal region even. So meeting a Poncle traveling to become a better artist? Why doesn't she join Leeana when she starts her Pokemon journey? Good friend that's a Gible goes wandering into Agata Forest? It's the middle of the night? No problem, she'd find him.

She wasn't wrong. She found her Gible. She also found a white wolf with crimson markings and what her friend that shows up in her dreams calls a prophet. Maybe the gods had something else in mind for an adventure, instead of a Pokemon journey. But in a land where the gods aren't as important, and Pokemon are what mostly everyone knows, is there anything to be done to stop this darkness? Well Leeana will certainly try to help however she can.
