Summary
Summary: Looking back, he supposed it was his dad’s death that derailed his life and sent him barreling towards Shiro like a runaway freight train. It was the guys at the station who broke the news to him. They called his dad a hero. Everyone did. Maybe they thought it would make him feel better, proud or something. It just made him feel angry, like his dad cared more about complete strangers than he did his own son, like he’d run into that burning building just to get away from him.

Summary
“Hey, hey, you’re okay,” a voice says softly, Shiro’s voice. A warm hand wraps around Keith’s clenched fingers. “I know it hurts, but you’re gonna be okay. I promise.” Artificial fingers caress his cheek. “Just try to relax.” Keith just lays there, breathing deeply and shivering as he listens to Shiro’s soft words. “That’s it,” Shiro murmurs softly, “deep, slow breaths.” There’s movement somewhere off to the right. Burning warmth travels up Keith’s arm and the pain recedes in a numbing tide that leaves him drifting close to sleep. His limbs turn to lead and his head is wrapped in cotton and Shiro’s soft words follow him back down into darkness.

Summary
“I’m guessing Shiro doesn’t know,” Hunk says softly. “It is Shiro’s right?”
“They,” Keith says.
“Huh?”
“They’re Shiro’s,” he says, his bottom lip trembling. “It’s… twins. Guess that’s a Galra thing too.”
He breaks down then. He drops his head into his hand and starts sobbing like an idiot. This isn’t him. He’s not that guy. He’s not the crying guy, but he’s scared. He doesn’t do scared. When you grow up in a Group Home you learn pretty quickly not to cry out in the middle of the night, because no one’s coming. Keith took the lesson to heart. He locked his fears away so that no one could ever use them against him. Until Shiro strolled into his life and made his heart vulnerable, until he made Keith fall in love with him and live with the constant fear of losing him again and again. He’s terrified of becoming a father at twenty-one, but even more terrified of doing it alone.
