Summary
Seungmin reared his spear back for a strike just in time to smack the fish from its bubble. It soared over them and landed back in the river, but the water bubble, knocked from Hyunjin’s control, splashed onto Seungmin’s head and shoulders.
“Ah!” He made a dramatic show of hurriedly wiping away the water before it could freeze. Then he turned to Hyunjin with a look of pure exasperation. “Why is it that every time you play with magic water, I get soaked?”
Now, that wasn’t true. Last week’s incident had technically been Seungmin’s fault when he snuck up on Hyunjin. Throwing the water at his face was purely instinctual self-defense. And the week before that was a simple knock of the elbow, messing up Hyunjin’s form enough to topple them both into the river. They had both gotten soaked that time, but Hyunjin had still been a little bit proud of capsizing a boat all on his own.

Summary
But Mike isn’t spiralling, and it’s because the horrors never happen to him. Sure, he lost his best friend for a week, but at least he wasn’t the one who got kidnapped to an alternate dimension. He was never brought up in a lab to be a super weapon for the Cold War. He’s never been possessed or eaten or zombified. He’s never been blown up, captured, and taken as a war prisoner to Russia. And alright, sure. Mike certainly has been thrust headfirst into a supernatural disaster, and he’s watched his best friend scream bloody murder on a gurney; a sound which has since been drilled into Mike’s subconscious, and he’s had his face slammed into metal pipes so he’s bled down his nose and chin, and he’s just lost and lost and lost again. But he never gets the worst of it, so the answer is no. Mike isn’t spiralling.

Summary
Her brother crossed his arms over his chest. “Nah.”
“Nah? Seriously? You’ve gotta uphold your end of the bargain, Sam.”
“This wasn’t a bargain, it was a bet.”
Sarah crossed her arms too. “Even better. Look, you’ve been staying here since the Flag-Smashers deal and your promotion to the Stars and Stripes. It’s been over a month since your friend came over for our family barbecue, and you haven’t even contacted each other yet. What’s with that, Sam? I thought you two made up.”
“We did,” Sam told her. “That doesn’t mean we have to get all buddy-buddy and ‘Cap’s best friend’ for the media.”
“Sam.”
“I’m not going to stay with him, Sarah.”
Sarah sent him a wide eyed smirk, and he held up a hand to silence her before she could even begin to say anything else.
“And I’m not- No. No, that’s not happening.”
She shrugged and picked up the coin to examine it. “I’m just saying… if you don’t, then I will.”

Summary
Holland March has been stone cold sober for almost two months, shockingly enough.
It’s been rough but manageable all things considered, the shaking, the headaches, the nausea and insomnia, it’s all relatively easy when he reminds himself all the reasons he’s doing it, for Holly and the cautious, faintly hopeful look in her eyes that gets bigger everyday.
The uncontrollable raging urge to kiss Jackson Healy at pretty much every turn? That’s going to his undoing
If someone had warned him that the side effects of sobriety included wanting to kiss the living daylights out of your business partner, he- well, he still would have gone through with it but it would have been nice to have the warning.

Summary
If love languages had been a thing in the 1970s, Jackson Healy would tell you without a doubt that physical touch was #1 on Holland March’s list. So when Holland didn’t want Jackson to get out of bed that morning, it didn’t raise any red flags. March’s behavior the rest of the day, however, surely did.
AKA: Holland March grieves. Jackson Healy holds him together. Literally.

Jackson Healy is ready to do what it takes.
