Summary
Prince Inuyasha Takahashi of the West and Princess Kagome Higurashi of the South were betrothed at birth. They had been destined for marriage in a union that would bring their kingdoms together. However, that is easier said than done, as every summer they are meant to visit the other's kingdom -- a visit that neither of them truly look forward to.
After years of planning, the time comes for the union to be complete. However, before the merger can become official, the princess is kidnapped by an evil wizard with the promise of taking the Southern kingdom for himself. With determination, Inuyasha goes off in search of the princess, but it seems she is gone forever.

Kagome unsettles him in ways he doesn’t comprehend. Inuyasha has never smelled anyone so strongly before. Not his mother who held him in her arms until he was old enough to walk. Not his old man, whose scent annoyingly clung to the Robe of the Fire Rat for years after his death. Not that bastard Sesshomaru, who Inuyasha hates to acknowledge smells kind of, sort of similar to himself.
Not even Kikyo, the woman who had been his first everything.
Where there was once only Inuyasha, there is now also Kagome.
