A Fantasy AU Bakugo Katsuki x Reader story
~~~
As its princess, you've been prepared to strengthen your homeland, The Kingdom of Green, through your marriage since you were a little girl. Selecting a wealthy or politically influential husband could secure your kingdom’s dwindling strength for another generation at least.
So, when your parents go behind your back and betroth you to Shoto Todoroki, crown prince of The Empire of Fire and Ice and son of the dictator Enji Todoroki, you realise matters will have to be taken into your own hands.
You flee your kingdom, hoping only to realise your dreams before returning and fulfilling your duty. You never thought you'd need help from the infamous Barbarian Prince Katsuki Bakugo, and you certainly never expected to end up travelling with him and his crew of misfits.
But alas, fate works in mysterious ways...
Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
Grian is a vet. After a chance encounter in the dead of night, during which he accidentally saves a villain from the brink of death, he suddenly finds himself entangled in a world beyond anything he could've ever imagined.
