Back then, Bruce had trusted neither Diana nor Kal, and the situation had only been exacerbated by the fact that Diana and Kal got along pretty well themselves, leaving Bruce paranoid that they were conspiring against him.
Now, of course, he knows that Diana and Kal aren’t the conspiring type. If they were going to act against him they’d do so to his face, without pretence.
Kal insists that they’d never act against Bruce at all, but he can’t know that for sure - there’s never any guarantee that Bruce wouldn’t deserve it - so it’s not a discussion Bruce bothers engaging with.
