This is the accounting of events that lead up to my D&D character Zenobia (Zen) showing the party that yes, she really is THAT kind of bard.
There's all manner of emotions, fights, and yes eventually explicit scenes. The beginning however.. is more heartache and angst. Which is when Zen as a character really found her voice, letting me in to who she really is.

Once a year, the Beastkin held a formal introduction banquet. All unpaired Beastkin within a certain radius of a major center were obligated to attend, or face censure from the local Alpha King. There were rare exceptions made for broken bones and illnesses, but often exceptions had to be applied for before the night of the banquet itself.
The Church, and the orphanage where the Church raised you, had managed to avoid sending you to the Beastkin banquet for the past 4 years by feigning ignorance. After all, you were the first Beastkin they’d ever raised, how were they to know Beastkin customs?
