As soon as those words left his lips, Zhongli’s face darkened. He took a step towards Childe who, feeling something akin to fear in his chest, took a step back. Zhongli followed, backing him up until Childe was pressed against a wall. “My love.” Zhongli’s voice sounded deeper than usual and no, it wasn’t a trick of light. His eyes were glowing. A warm palm was cupping his cheek. “My love, I have been waiting for you for thousands of years. You are mine. You are my mate. You are not going anywhere.”
