Summary
"What she does notice is the way Buck avoids questions that aren’t work-related. No social media. No talk of dating. And whenever Chim annoys him about weekend plans, Buck just shrugs and says he has someone waiting on him. “Partner,” he says, and it’s the only thing they can get out of him about his personal life. Everything else feels like it’s under lock and key."
Or, a 5+1 where Buck and Eddie are already married when Buck comes to LA and joins the 118. Hen attempts to find out more about their new probie who keeps details about his life suspiciously underwraps. Summary
“Buck!” Eddie was already moving.
Oxygen tank forgotten at Bobby’s feet, turnout coat already halfway off because he needed the range of motion to check on Buck. The world tunneled—sirens, voices, the puff of dust off every bootfall—down to one point: Buck’s face up close, eyes too bright, lashes caked with grit. “Hey. Hey, look at me.”
Buck tried.
He blinked slow, mouth parted, a smear of soot curving up his cheekbone. His lips were almost colorless under the dust.
“Eddie,” he managed, voice frayed into a rasp. “M’good.”
“Yeah? Prove it.”
Eddie’s palm found the back of Buck’s turnout, guided him sideways to the tailboard of the engine. “Sit down.”_____________
Buck's caught right in the middle of a structural collapse and when he stumbles out, well, Eddie has to make sure he's actually okay.
This is, like 4.5k words of Eddie checking over Buck, sorry! -

Summary
Eddie freezes at the doorway, tray in hand, the voices drifting from inside stopping him cold.
“Oh, your stepdad doesn’t live with you?” Mark asks, gesturing to a framed photo of Buck and Christopher.
There’s a beat of silence—too long, too loaded.Eddie’s heart stutters, thudding hard against his ribs as he waits, breath held. God's really decided to test him today.
Then Christopher answers, casually, like it’s the easiest thing in the world. “No… he lives in L.A.”
or Eddie overhears a conversation between Christopher and his friend, then proceeds to spiral about being in love with Buck while also being insanely jealous of 118's new recruit

Summary
The picture on the back is a dark tree line contrasted by the wide blue sky above it. It’s faded, like it has taken one too many trips in the back of a mail truck, tattered and worn.
Eddie flips it over, the back scrawled with quick but somewhat neat handwriting. Scanning the words his eyes drop to the corner—the address.
‘Maddie Kendall, 1500 Hemlock Ave, Hershey, PA 17033’
Or,
An AU where Buck's postcards, which he sent to Maddie, were forwarded to Eddie on deployment by mistake. He becomes attached to the man behind the letters and his stories of his travels. Until, by a twist of fate, they bring him face to face with Buck himself. -

Caught in the rhythm of routine, Eddie remembers a few moments too late that he’s meant to be entering quietly when he gets home from work.
