Summary
Arthur isn’t sure how he survived that night on the mountain, and isn’t sure how he was found by a man and his sons and taken back to their ranch to be nursed back to help. When he wakes up and discovers that he has a debt to pay and not a dollar to his name, he gets to working. As the years continue, he begins to think more and more about his past, and wonders how much of it he’ll run into again.

Albert didn’t know what to expect when he reluctantly agreed to the demands of Detective Milton to save himself from prosecution, but it certainly wasn’t falling for one of the van der Linde gang’s most notorious outlaws while spying on him. Arthur Morgan was violent one moment and startlingly sensitive the next, and Albert almost wished the man would just settle on one to make his own decision easier.

“Since our Boss is out on some business for some time, I imagine it’s going to get quite dull for you Mr. Morgan”, The man’s voice was rough, and high, like he had swallowed glass and then been kicked in the dick. Arthur couldn’t help but chuckle lowly at that thought.
The man seemed entertained by that rather than offended. He bore a confidence only an insane man could. He did not deem to dwell on it, instead continuing with his monologue, like one of the villains from Jack’s books, “I figured we could be good hosts and treat yeh to a little game. Five Finger Filet. I reckon you’ve played before, yes?”
