To say Harleigh Potter was confused would be an understatement. It was one thing to have woken up in some barren wasteland of a kingdom with a ghost and its dragon to guide her. But it was another thing entirely to suddenly be claimed as family by strangers simply because she could ride one of the flying beasts.
At least her ghostly companion was getting a laugh out of this.

The Maesters talk of winds from Valyria blowing over, the hot ash from the still raging fires imprisoned in the downpour and clouds, an anger of a dead civilisation carrying rot in the rain. Alerie Targaryen is born in this strange summer storm. She dreams of another as a child. One where a man with no nose kills her in a forest, where she dies alone surrounded by ghosts.
It doesn't make much sense to the young Targaryen Princess, but she thinks it might if she could find the right twig.
Or; There's a reason why rumours spread of some Hightowers having dabbled in alchemy and necromancy.
