The teaser for my work in progress book, 'Ashes Where We Slept'. This is the very beginning of Ashley and Elliot's story.
(SPOILERS... obvi)
Ashley, exhausted, sways so gently into a disturbing calm. Elliot fades in and out of consciousness, and wakes up in the hospital after trying to kill himself. Tucker, his guardian, is very worried.This is my very first real project. Please be mean, I do want to improve.

Keith remains unimpressed. “I could haunt you for real.”
“Spooky.” Lance grins and takes a sip of his now perfect coffee.
