    Summer, 2077. V’s just finished watching an XBD in which she hears the name David Martinez. Later on, a man named Falco reaches out, claiming to have been a member of David’s former crew. He seems to think that because of V's past with Arasaka, she and Martinez might have more in common than she thinks. Through a mutual acquaintance, V is given David's edgerunner jacket. A week later, she receives a message from someone asking to meet and V is introduced to the beautiful, brooding netrunner, Lucy Kushinada. At first, she’s bitter and resentful. She wants David's jacket back! As time passes though, the two women become very close. In a moment of vulnerability, V confides in Lucy that she’s living on borrowed time. There’s a corrupted Arasaka shard in her brain that’s killing her. Lucy's devastated and vows to help however she can, even if that means seeking the answers beyond the Blackwall and reliving her past nightmares from a childhood spent working for Arasaka. Lucy finds it a lot more challenging than she thought. She's gonna need help if she wants to save V. Enter Judy Alvarez, a brilliant, attractive techie who V's just begun seeing. Relationships form, bonds deepen. Does love have to follow any rules?
