...he heard footsteps approaching. Out of instinct, he grabbed a startled Jiang Cheng and pulled him behind a bush.
“What are you doing?” Jiang Cheng whispered harshly.
“Apologies.” Lan Wangji said, looking a bit paranoid. “Usually when we’re together there’s a reason to evade punishment.”
“Well-” Jiang Cheng huffed. He couldn’t really argue there. They watched as their older brothers appeared on the path. Lan Xichen was whispering something into Wei Wuxian’s ear and Wei Wuxian threw his head back and laughed...
“...We shouldn’t follow them.” Jiang Cheng muttered.
“We should not.” Lan Wangji agreed. “We have no reason to...”
They glanced at each other, and then at the empty path their brothers had left upon, then down at the turtle who was trying to swallow Jiang Cheng’s finger whole, and then back at each other again.
“...Bring the turtles?”

There were hands around his hair, bangs brushed away from his flushed face, before untying the red ribbon behind for his dark locks to spread and be combed through. Lan Wangji’s movements were oddly gentle now, smooth and cautious, entirely contrasting to his earlier rough actions.
Wei Wuxian tried to carefully peer through the haziness of his lust, when he caught a strange look on Lan Wangji’s face. “Lan Zhan?”
Lan Wangji stared at him for a few moments. Then, with a murmured “beautiful,” and a strum of heart strings, he leaned in to paste a kiss on Wei Wuxian’s lips.
Wei Wuxian spends his heat with his husband for the first time.
