    Summary

After the unfortunate circumstance of becoming a vampire, Kaeya Alberich finds himself often choosing between humanity and hunger.
Though, after meeting his Hunter, he often wonders what he hungers for more.

"The most dangerous monsters are the ones who pretend to be human... Yet I regrettably find a human in the form of a monster."

Dedicated to Ubekeki, as this story was inspired by one of her works.

    Summary

That thick, red hair captured in a ponytail. His broad shoulders. Diluc has changed and yet remained the same. Kaeya knows this to be the magical fate of all things, like the bones in the earth that have melted to slick black liquid: fuel for the future. Whatever simulacrum Kaeya’s memory had constructed of the former Diluc is obsolete in the face of total, unflinching reality.

A feeling once thought to be extinct rises up in Kaeya. Terrible, monstrous longing.

“So it is you.” The gruff way in which Diluc says it doesn’t sound like an invitation at all, but Kaeya chooses to interpret it that way.

Beads of sweat lay clustered on Diluc’s brow—his halo of labor. Kaeya wants to lick it away, to toil in the salt fields of Diluc’s freckled skin. He would gladly give himself over to the profession of worship.

“Tell me you missed me,” is what he chooses to say.

After eight years of separation, Kaeya is ready to start over, but Diluc wants to do it differently.
