As Choi Hyeonjoon’s eyes met with Jihoon’s, the budding smile on his face froze over like hoarfrost, morphed into an ugly imitation of one that didn’t quite reach his eyes.

That was all they said to each other, for the first time in 9 months.

Choi Hyeonjun rolled his eyes. “I don’t care! This is fun!” He dropped Moon Hyeonjoon’s hand and stepped back, tilted his body backwards, and swung his arm around. The rose was tucked neatly in his inside pocket. “Look, I’m the inflatable balloon man!”
Moon Hyeonjoon covered his face with his hands. “Oh my god, you’re crazy. You’re driving me crazy.”

Choi Hyeonjun found himself staring at Moon Hyeonjoon’s face, transfixed by the look in his eyes. He thought, not for the first time, that Moon Hyeonjoon looked like something from a dream.
The younger took a step back and held out his hand. He even bowed a little.
The next sentence was supposed to be said like a joke, but Moon Hyeonjoon’s tone told him it was something heavier than that, something realer.
“Choi Hyeonjun, will you dance with me?”
