Lady Disaster strikes when it is opportune. So when the old Shrine Maiden leaves Alberose Island upon retirement for greater Teyvat on a diplomatic mission, not expected back for months, Lady Disaster came calling. In 46 hours Alberose Island has their new Shrine Maiden killed, her heir go missing, and the seat of power is seized by a crazed tyrant. But if there is one thing disaster cannot kill, it is loyalty. The heir is alive, and so are his supporters — but the tyrant has loyalties too.
No matter. Loyalty is a powerful emotion, a powerful motivation. It can move mountains, it can forgive transgressions, it can love when love is scarce.
And sometimes loyalty is so strong a force it can kill.

Summary
After the events of Dragonspine, Albedo is bedridden with nightmares of what he’s done. Sucrose's memories are foggy at best after the incident and Albedo remains hopeful that her memories will return in time. However, when this facade shatters, he's forced to stop playing pretend and confront a secret he has been trying to forget. Denial and regret clash over Albedo's shoulders as he must make a choice, no matter how difficult it may be.
Will Albedo run from the truth in his thinly veiled denial of reality and damn Sucrose to a cursed life that has been tied by fate and corrupted by blood, or will Albedo find the resolve to face his trauma and find solace in the truth?
