Bucky Barnes was trying his best. Trying to live a quiet life, keep his head down, stay on Valentina's good side, and maybe just enjoy a cup of coffee every once and a while. It just never seemed to be that easy, and he never seemed to be able to relax.
Except when he went to that one coffee shop, tucked away from the busy streets and overpriced just enough so it stayed quiet. Although, he didn't mind hearing your voice from behind the counter making his order.

In his 2009 book on Captain America comic books, war photography, and American propaganda, Everett claims: “There is nothing to suggest that either the graphic novels issued during the war or the photographs taken during Rogers’ stay with the Howling Commandos can serve as a basis for a queer reading of Rogers and Barnes’ relationship.
