Summary

Louis and Harry have been best friends since childhood. They had been through a lot together. Now they were grown but still flatmates. Louis had presented as an alpha , Harry was still a beta. He was now 23 and thought that’s what he would be. Louis and Harry had feelings but didn’t know if it could work with an alpha and a beta. It was possible but very uncommon. They both decided to give it a shot. They went out on a date. They had a great time. When they came home things got heated and they had sex. They both fell asleep but when Louis woke up. Harry was being weird. It took him a few minutes but Louis figured out Harry was in heat. What should he do. Harry is really an omega. He called Liam and Niall to ask for help. Niall is also a beta and offered his help. Louis had just fought off another alpha trying to get to Harry. He could not leave and forced Niall to go. Louis did not want to be with Harry as he did not have consent and he respected Harry. So he just feed him, cleaned him and watched him as he went through heat. He begged Louis to help him, but he did not. Harry wanted to be bonded and Louis couldn’t do that. So me marked his scent but did not break any skin. His mark will be there for many weeks but he needed to protect Harry. When Harry finally came out of his heat. He was scared, confused and upset. He packed a bag and left. Louis did not know where he had gone. He finally found Harry at his moms but he wouldn’t even talk to him. Louis was devastated. Harry came home a few weeks later but never talked to him. Always avoided him and tried not to be home when Louis was. Louis decided to go to his moms house for a few days to give himself some space. He was there for 2 days. He suddenly got the feeling he had to be with Harry. He rushed home. It took 1 1/2hrs. He was almost home and Zayn called. Harry was in the hospital. He had dropped. This is the rest of the story

Summary
"So, I guess we'll go?" Louis asks later, when Harry has calmed down and eaten his weight in Chinese food. He plays with this chopsticks, spearing another piece of chicken and pops it in his mouth. "I mean, I wouldn't mind. We could make it an adventure."
Harry observes him, watches him seated across from him on their old living room carpet, with a container of food on his lap. He's fidgeting, avoiding meeting Harry's gaze–he probably knows that Harry's mad at him for ruining the one chance they had to get out of this situation. And he's not wrong, Harry is definitely very mad. Harry wants to strangle him and castrate him and smack him upside the head.
But he's also Harry's best friend, and despite everything, despite all the fuck-ups and the plot twists and everything just not playing out the way it should, he'd still rather be stuck in this situation with Louis than any of the other boys. He's got Harry's back, and in a weird, abstract way, he knows they'll be able to get out of this situation, together.
Harry sighs. "We're going," he says resignedly, his shoulders slumping.
Oh well. There are definitely worse ways to spend the weekend than pretending to be engaged to his best friend.
