Dear Reader,
I'm sorry to say that the fanfiction you are reading on your screen is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about three very unlucky children. Even though they are charming and clever, the Van Der Linde siblings lead lives filled with misery and woe. From the very first chapter in this fic when the children are at Clemens Point and receive terrible news, continuing on through the entire story, disaster lurks at their heels. One might say they are magnets for misfortune.
In this short fic alone, the three youngsters encounter a greedy and repulsive villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous gunfight, a plot to steal their fortune, and food worse than Pearson’s stew.
It is my sad duty to type down these unpleasant tales, but there is nothing stopping you from changing tab at once and reading something happy, if you prefer that sort of thing.

There are a few rules that are common sense. The kind of rules that are drilled into one's mind from such a young age, that to go against them is so utterly stupid that it's incomprehensible. Don't talk to strangers, you might get robbed blind; look both ways when crossing a road because getting hit by horse or wagon was not a good start to the day; don't eat or drink weird things you find in the wilderness, because it might be poisoned and you might die. Simple things. Things Arthur had been taught before he even met Dutch and Hosea. Hell, at thirty six years of age, some might think he carried a bit of common sense with him. Apparently not.
Arthur decides to eat a strange looking stew he finds in the middle of nowhere. It’s no surprise that it messes with his head, but all of a sudden he’s in 2025. Oh, and he has a husband now.

A dark, hooded figure emerged from the dense snowstorm, growing far too tall as it approached. You shuffled back weakly in the bloodstained snow and winced as you jostled the trap clamped on your boot.
“What is this?” the man’s voice rumbled, muffled behind his mask. “You are…not what I expected to catch today.” He crouched and cupped your cheek reverently, as if you were a tiny creature whose delicate bones would snap at a too-rough touch.
You flinched at first — but he was warm, so warm.
“You are very far from home, aren’t you, Kleines Häschen?” he mused, honeyed words drawn out slowly as you relaxed into his palm. “Come, let me tend to your wound. Rest by my fire, just for a little while.”
The man scooped you up from the snow, unresisting. Sleep whispered sweet temptation as you were cradled to his chest, lulled by the blood loss and his steady steps. You gave in to the beckoning darkness, and allowed your heavy lids to close, like he said—

holy freaking shit. i don’t usually read y/n fics nor könig fics but this is so freaking amazing and well written. i binged all twenty one current chapters in two days and i cannot wait for more. it’s so good and genuinely leaves you on edge at certain moments. highly recommend!!!!!

Summary
Arthur Morgan died in 1899 after being betrayed by his supposed father figure and saving John Marston and his family. For his honorable road in life, he was sent back in time to the beginning of Red Dead Redemption 2. Knowing who Dutch really is, Arthur, free from TB, sets out on a journey to save as many people as he could, and perhaps even gain something new along the way...
This is my reasoning to write time traveling Arthur. I'm surprised by the lack of him time traveling fics. Taking him from Chapter 6 to Chapter 1 or even 2 presents so many opportunities. You have an Arthur who broke free of his indoctrination to Dutch and has been humbled by TB and blind loyalty. You take him to the beginning of the end, and you have a very good concept. Additionally, I feel like too many fics are too nice to Dutch. He has to take personal responsibility for Blackwater and all of the fuck ups that he'd made, something I doubt he would. He is extremely egoistical. He’s always right no matter what. That’s why he views the people who question his "morals" (or lack thereof) as “traitors” (Arthur and John) and people who follow him blindly as “loyal” (Micah, Bill, and Javier).

This was an absolutely beautiful work of art. I read it all in 2 days and oh my god it has changed me in so many ways. Every chapter got better and better and for some of the cliffhangers I was on the edge of my seat. I feel honoured to have been able to read this.
