Summary
I was used to seeing the bright side of things and portraying the best version of myself to the world. My cracks are always covered by layers of lies and perfect porcelain masks to repel the thoughts that whispered and seethed I wasn't good enough. But when he turned those dark eyes to mine and held my hand so gently, it made me realize something frightening.
I wanted to peel back my lies and expose the core of my being to him, let him know every nook and cranny of my soul and throw my masks aside to let them shatter. I wanted to have a drawer cleared in my dresser dedicated just to him and a spare hanger in my closet for his black hoodie; I wanted to have an extra chair at my table for him and a little shelf in the bathroom for his toothbrush.
Of course, most of all, I wanted him.
