Somebody who seems to think Sam is being a bit slow on the uptake. "Time parameters exceeded. Mission failed."
"Wait." Sam narrows his eyes. "Is this some kind of... report? Debriefing?"
"Mission report," confirms Barnes, looking pleased. Well, looking slightly less murderous than before.

in many ways, he is childlike by Midgard's standards. He cannot read or write any local language, a skill set much more valued and valuable here than on other worlds. He is literate and numerate, of course, in more than just the language of the Aesir, but that does not help him in London or Cleveland or New York. He cannot tell whether the bottle contains soap or condiment, he does not know what a telephone is, or why it is that red lights in the street mean "stop" but on a machine means that it is "standing by" and ready to be used. He cannot contribute to the running of Jane's household, nor is he of any possible use in her work, and the lack of function grates, although he is careful not to take out his frustration on -- or give voice to any doubts about his chosen path to -- Jane or Darcy or Selvig.

Summary
There was nothing wrong with Howling Commandos, not really. It was new and shiny, made only six months before Steve woke up and on the brink of cancellation until it was announced that Captain America was found, at which point ratings skyrocketed. Steve would have heard of the series, except that he was too busy figuring out his phone, handling alien invasions, and battling crippling depression (that he would not admit to anyone, even himself). The result was that 25 episodes later, Howling Commandos was the most popular television shows about the war on the planet, with a loyal following, and Steve was almost totally oblivious.

Stilinski and McCall were fully dressed now. Stilinski was waiting while McCall put on his shoes. Further into the room, Weird Creep was hiding behind a row of lockers. Only half his body was still visible. Clearly the guy operated on the old 'if I can't see it, it can't see me' school of stealth.
Coach Finstock looked back to the boys. McCall was still busy tying his shoes. Either he hadn't noticed or he was avoiding the coach - either was a distinct possibility. Stilinski had a 'lord give me strength' expression on and was shaking his head.
"Seriously?" Coach Finstock asked.
"Yeah," Stilinksi said. "Just... don't mention it. It's nothing weird, I swear."

If Stiles had been there thirty seconds earlier, he could have stopped the Darach from claiming his best friend, could have stopped Scott from lighting himself on fire. Now, he’s the human leader of a werewolf pack, trying to take down two enemies, while his most powerful members are running around, trying to find someone he’s already written off as being dead.
AKA: Scott died in Motel California and Stiles has to find a way to bring the pack together and take down the Darach and the Alphas.
