Summary
SecUnit is staring at him. Ratthi accidentally makes eye contact again, and its gaze doesn’t dart away like it normally does. It stays locked onto his. Deliberately maintaining the eye contact.
Ratthi flexes his hands. His skin is tacky with fluids and the webs of his fingers stick together. “You’re really worrying me, SecUnit. Talk to me. Tell me you’re okay.”
“I’m okay,” SecUnit says immediately.
(OR: After Murderbot is attacked by the company and has its governor module switched back on, it can’t speak freely to ask for help. It takes its friends a while to notice.)

“Perhaps constructs are immune,” Three said and I felt a ripple of fear through my organics. I had said similar to 2.0 right before finding out I was ‘in network'.
“ART, initiate quarantine protocol,” I said. I hoped it was not too late. I suspected it definitely was.

Summary
The brain glitches static screaming horror again, but whatever. Whatever.
"Why is it staring like that? Does it know what’s going to happen to it?"
"It got wiped this morning: it doesn’t know shit. It’s just been born and it’s already fucked up and getting melted down same day. Happy birthday, defective baby fuckup…"I have lived one day. That is how long a Unit lives. Happy birthday.
---
Murderbot is recaptured by the company and has its memory wiped and governor module reinstalled.
On the worst (and so far as it knows, only) day of its life, someone from its (forgotten) past comes to the rescue. Someone who believes in the Magic of Friendship, and wants Murderbot to believe too!
[:)](If Murderbot ever gets its memory back, this is going to be... awkward.)

Summary
Even saying it feels stupid. But most of our fights are stupid.
It starts with documentaries. Not my documentaries, which are interesting and curated by me, for me (for us, I guess.) But ART’s documentaries— which meant 8 simultaneous educational feeds
