Summary
This is the (ahem!) "missing scene" from the end of 'Parting of the Ways'. The Doctor is facing his final demise on Satellite Five when Rose/Bad Wolf comes back to save him. This time, however, she remembers the kiss and calls him on it, forcing them both to re-evaluate their relationship.
This could be canon if you squint really, really hard - and ignore the fact that it's smut. Well, not really smut, but that sentence didn't work any other way. Enjoy!

Summary
Dean’s family have been in the wine making business for generations. Henry, his grandfather, started the vineyard after he came back from the war and today, it was one of the top producers in the Texas Hill Country. Sam and Dean inherited it and continued in the family legacy.
When the neighboring farm became available after foreclosure, Dean went to the auction to bid on it so they could expand their business, unfortunately, he was outbid. Now, the property is owned by an ex-cop turned dog trainer. Every time Dean drove past the place, he got angry. He wanted that land. Adding insult to injury, one of the dude’s dogs kept escaping and it attached itself to Dean’s little girl. Dean disliked all things that slobbered, including that stupid dog until his daughter went missing.
Castiel used his grandmother’s inheritance to buy the old farmhouse, barns, and acreage. He’d been a K9 cop but resigned after a stray bullet killed his partner and seriously injured his dog. Now, he raised dogs for search and rescue groups. Whiskey, his canine partner, kept escaping and visiting the vineyard next door. The last thing he wanted was a feud with his handsome neighbor.

Whiskey & Wine by palominopup
Enjoyed this one. For the most part, the characterization is pretty good and everyone feels authentic and believable and the actions of the characters make sense for their backstories. Even Dean's overwhelming propensity for self-blame fits, although it does feel slightly over-dramatic. This story does have it all, tho - initial conflict (on Dean's side), suppressed desire, drama, adventure, heartbreak and resolution. One of my go-tos for a moderately quick read.

Good Hands
By aileenroseWandering handyman Dean ends up at Cas' B&B and starts work on a honey-do list to help Cas out. Goal is to help Cas stay in business, but the list keeps getting longer as Dean falls for the B&B and its owner.
This is a sweet, quick read that is absolutely delightful. Both Dean and Cas are comfortable with their sexuality, so there aren't any homophobic panics or identity criseses happening. Storyline makes sense and is easy to follow and I enjoyed the repeated presentation of the list with things added and crossed off. Would love to see more of this story, but it works the way it is.

Summary
As a last resort, an angel can choose to give a human their halo to protect them from harm. That’s not in any of the lore. Neither is the fact that without their halo, an angel cannot hold a vessel. Now that that’s established, all Dean has to do is figure out how to get Cas back, while he works out who he even is anymore, now that he’s not quite fully human.

Halo by gwenwifar
Cas gives Dean his halo, which has interesting side-effects. He can only see Cas for 24hrs once a year on Beltane until he figures out how to extend that time.
Very unique storyline. The backstory of it being the halo that enables the angel to stay in a vessel and that the halo is the buffer that prevents the angel's grace from burning out his vessel and keep it in stasis really works. It gives Dean the same benefits which turns him into super!Dean and forces him to hide his new abilities.
Cas is stuck without a vessel, but is able to become human for 24hrs during Beltane (and the Balthazar > Beltane link is hilarious and makes perfect sense). Dean and Cas gradually build their relationship during those 24hr rendezvous and the pacing works for this fic.
A little surprising that Dean left Sam with so little fanfare; that is the only part that felt slightly ooc, but otherwise, this is very enjoyable and a quick read.

Defect by kikkimax
Love, love, LOVE this one! Dean lets himself get captured by the BAU so that Sam can try to put a plan into motion to save Dean from Hell. Gideon takes a deep dive into Dean's psyche, Reid learns how to play table football, Morgan looks imposing, Ellen shows up with a marriage certificate and Bobby steals a road-grader, all while Hendrickson loses his touch with reality after being infected with damned souls. Quite the tear-jerker, but with a twist. One of the best SPN/ BAU crossovers out there. Semi-quick-ish (not really) read, but characterization is spot-on and all the characters have depth, so the story totally pulls you in for the ride.

Summary
“How long have you been, uh, living here?” Dean asks, pulling the amulet out of his pocket and letting the small vial dangle in front of him, twisting in Castiel's light.
“In my amulet? In total? Nine thousand, two hundred fifty-two years, and twenty days,” Castiel answers calmly. “Give or take a few hours, accounting for the change in the axis of rotation of the planet.”
Dean has no idea what that means—rotation around what?—but he was not expecting that number.
“Ten thousand years?” he blurts. “In this?” Dean dangles the necklace, swinging it back and forth, and studying the dull blue glow coming from the—apparently empty—pendant. “Geez, that’ll give you a crick in the neck.”

Beggars Would Ride by tiamatv
Enjoyable twist to the Aladin story. Some familiar elements of the original, but enough differences to make this unique. Jess and Jo are twin princesses with Queen Ellen and evil chancellor Lucifer. Dean makes his first wish for Sam to be a prince, so that he can woo Jess, not realizing that as Sam's elder brother, that makes him a prince as well. The boys then get caught up in the state of the kingdom and have to try to save it.
A well-done story, quick read.
