    Summary

Urged forward by his determination to prevent a cruel and unfair end for one Lea Florence Monad and those she holds dear, the Tracker arrives at the Rose Estate immediately following the Blood Artist’s demise, rescuing both mentor and apprentice from the steadily encroaching doom that would’ve sought them out otherwise, long before it can arrive to claim them in its talons.

From there, the Tracker hides Lea and Romeo away from the world as it begins to fall apart around them in earnest, giving them the time they need to recover from their respective injuries, heal a number of not so physical wounds too, and eventually readjust to a Krat that will be utterly unfamiliar to what they remember.

Maxim gets hurt in a fight, VR-LA helps replace the damaged plating. Somehow it’s gay.

They aren’t dating at this point, but they are both somewhat aware of the others feelings (neither of them have any idea how to move forward though)

    Summary

“If someone finds us here, I will not cast a single spell to stop them,” Jace says. “You draw attention like that, you clean it up.”

Porter leisurely snaps an arcane lock onto the office door. He stops and looks back at Jace. In the moonlight seeping through the window, his face is wrought half of flesh, half of shadow. His eyes gleam bloody red as the sun.

Jace’s body throbs, a furious heartbeat head to toe. He tells himself it’s a faulty response, some pulse of magic from the shatterstar in his chest. He tells himself that it’s not the sense-memory of straddling Porter’s thigh two nights ago, biting his mouth open till it turned the same shade of rage-hot red.

“If someone finds us here, I’ll break their spine,” Porter says calmly. “And you’re certainly welcome to watch. Now, how do we draw this circle?”

    Summary

"What the fuck," Jace whispers, and stumbles over to his desk. The scarf claws its way free from his neck and tumbles to the floor.

His clothes are shredded; he can see that now. Claw marks have opened up the crochet weave of his overcoat, the purple silk of his shirt. Whatever happened in the Mountains isn't important, though. When he presses a hand to his breastbone, it's scabbed over with raised flesh, burning red-hot as a furnace. The edges of something sharp and striated hit his fingers, jutting upwards. A rage crystal.

"What the fuck," he says again. The words come out cracked and shrill. "What the fuck - Porter, you did it to me?  What the fuck!"

"I honestly don't know why you're so surprised."

    ***

Jace comes back to life, angry and raging and unwilling to contain it.

Porter is fine with this turn of events.

    Summary

He was unwilling at first, but that was only when it came to dying. He had gladly worshiped on his knees and took communion on his back and accepted Porter with his full body, mind, and soul simply because he was a stupid, stupid man and being told he was special and worthy and needed and useful was enough to sway him entirely.

That alone should have meant he was beyond saving; he'd worship Porter again in all the same ways if he only had the chance.

Maybe this time it wouldn't have to involve killing gods and usurping their domain and creating a new god from their eternally burning remains, but. That wasn't the world he'd loved in. It wasn't the world he lived in.

Maybe he couldn't be saved whether that was just or not.

Alternatively: Jace Stardiamond was as unwilling a pawn as (most) anyone else. What's his justice?
