Summary
Dean and Cas have been in a car accident. Cas survived, Dean did not. The Winchesters arrive at the hospital in California and see Cas recovering there, and as the story unfolds, recollections from Sam and Cas are shared—starting in 1999 when Dean abruptly left Kansas to live with his online chatroom friend in Los Angeles. Dean frequently calls Sam with exciting stories about wild parties, his adventures in the desert, and his innumerable dalliances with pretty California girls. However, we learn from Cas’s perspective of the same events that Dean might have left out a few pertinent details. As Sam and Cas converse and Dean’s personal effects are given back to the Winchesters, it becomes clear that Dean and Cas were more than just friends for the past 13 years.

Cas refused to touch Dean.
From the moment in that Crypt, when he saw Deans face all bloody and his eye swollen with a split lip as he flinched away from Castiel when he moved to heal him. He couldn’t bring himself to touch him again. Whenever the thought crossed his mind, he was brought back to that night. It took months before he could even stomach going near the man without feeling an deep and aching guilt that swallowed him whole.
so what would happen when Dean demanded that touch?

Summary
When Dean Winchester’s friend and neighbor, Garth, moves out of their duplex, he is not expecting him to be replaced with a cranky, weed-smoking recluse with zero taste in music, but that’s what he gets. But Dean soon realizes there is more behind Castiel’s brooding stare and prickly personality. There is someone worth getting to know. Someone who needs a little TLC, even if he is too stubborn to admit it.
Castiel Novak is a survivor. He has survived his parents' tragic death, He has survived being kidnapped and tortured by his own brother, and he has survived living with the constant flow of nightmares that have followed. So Castiel can certainly survive having to live next to an annoyingly cheerful (beautiful) man, with kind green eyes and an unhealthy affinity to classic rock, who is determined to be his new friend.
Or, the one where Castiel starts a friends with benefits relationship with his new neighbor, and finally starts to heal his heart.
