If there was one thing Søren understood, it was potential. He bet his whole future on his own potential when he applied to Celena North, after all. So, when his classmates made snide remarks about Kon to his back, he just couldn’t understand. Because Kon had potential; he was an S-class with unique spells and skills! The only one with more potential was Søren himself.
Potential made sense. He had thought so when he first joined CNH, and even six months later, he continued to think so. If someone had asked to measure people on how much he understood them, he would put Kon on the side of “most easily understood” and on the other end, all the way to the edge so far away it almost fell off the metaphor, there would be the Rabbit.

Kyle Reese has traveled backwards in time, not to save Sarah Connor, but to help her rewrite the faulty utility function of Skynet. Together, it's possible that they might avert Judgment Day and save the world from nuclear Armageddon - and hopefully create a utopia ruled over by an AI god in the process. Fully completed. Diverges wildly from canon.

A short piece on Clark Kent, effective altruist. This is either incomplete or complete but open-ended, and either way, I don't intend to add more to it, though I'm sure I could if I had a gun pressed to my head. This has been sitting in my drafts folder for a long time, and after reading it over a few times, I haven't found any sufficiently satisfactory conclusion to it, in part because the central question appears to me to be unsolvable. Apologies for any misrepresentation of effective altruism, Superman canon, basic science, or economics.
