“A dragon’s blood isn’t cold,” Aerion says at last. His own voice surprises him with how hushed it has gone, but he can’t even pretend that he minds: it’s not every day that a man is seen for what he is, even if his witness despises the sight of it – of him. Aerion reaches down and burrows a nail into the delicate crease of his own wrist, dragging it up until he can feel the skin break. He patiently coats his palm with the blood dripping out and presses it to the knight’s parted lips, insisting even as he leans back and tries to evade him. He’ll never get tired of this, he suspects; of being inevitable. “See? A dragon can only ever be made of fire.”

'“Did you not call yourself a knight?”
He delights in watching the big oaf of a man in front of him jump in place before finding his composure as quickly as he’s able to and it’s a childish, petty thing to amuse himself with, Aerion supposes – childish, petty and irresistible.
“Yes, Your Grace.” It’s not quite the correct title, but it is rather easy on the ears; enough for him to let it slide rather than correct the knight and watch him squirm. There’s something terribly earnest about him, disarming and honest and painfully eager to please. “Ser Duncan the Tall.”'

“You will,” the King says and his tone is mild, but there’s enough bite to it that his son glares at his father’s profile before swiftly saying his goodbyes and heading towards the exit. Dunk falls in step dutifully, casting one last regretful look back at the hall before following the heir to the realm out of the room."
(Dunk is tasked with a most difficult assignment - try and handle the crown prince before he sabotages his father further than he already has.)
