   Summary

   Cressida had her fair share of adventuring and fighting for her life. Having decided her psionic powers were too volatile and dangerous, she contented herself to a life generally detached from others. When a nautiloid kidnaps and infects her with a mind flayer parasite, Cressida is thrown into a situation where she must team up with those around her to survive.

   With the parasite granting her a new set of powers, Cressida is forced to face demons she hoped to leave in the past. The ragtag party she finds herself allied with leaves her to wonder if she was ever better off alone. And a certain rakish vampire vying for her attention does not help her inner turmoil.
