Stede smiles and gestures at the table before him. “Oh, I’ve just been holed up in my cabin looking at maps, plotting the next spot o’ piracy for our dear crew. I can almost smell the booty!”
Ed’s eyes go wide. “Uh. Tell me. What does booty smell like?”
“It varies! Sometimes it’ll smell salty, if it’s fresh from the ocean. Other times it’ll smell of musty coins or old parchment. It’s really got its own distinctive aroma, you know. An aroma of adventure, and excitement!”
