Yeah, Dennis admits to himself, he’s down pretty bad.
He’s certain that the fishing trips his brothers took with their dad didn’t have this additional complication – that of the man taking them being so hot they’d want to cry. Trinity’s comment, ‘daddy wants to take you to the woodshed,’ bounces around in Dennis’s head.

Though it's much more manageable now, there are times - namely, in the midst of lingering depressive episodes - when The Void still makes it difficult for Bob to touch anyone without worrying about sending them both on an accidental, usually invasive spiral of shame. Typically, John Walker is primed to face threats a million times larger than a hug.
